The PS2! Friendly on casual and hardcore gamers! Sweet on the pockets too!
With the title. I would like to proclaim that the PS2 is currently the best system for you to buy if your just into gaming. As it is right now, the next gen consoles may be in right now, but i see a scarcity in certain genre of games such as Japanese RPGs and fighting games.
Honestly, I don't feel that now is not the right time to dip into the next gen technology as of yet, especially new gamers, since with the PS3, you have to buy originals and the really good games are only for hardcore gamers (Minus LittleBigPlanet), so it limits your options, and especially unfriendly on the wallet. The XBOX360 too suffers from a lack of casual friendly games. As most of its family oriented games are online, those who mod their consoles will be left completely out of the fold. The Wii, is good and affordable, but a casual gamer may find it hard to find a good game between a lot of bad games thats out for the system.
As those 3 consoles are still growing in terms of console titles available, I would most definitely recommend the PS2 for those who would like to start gaming. It's a cheap console, at RM400 it presents very good value for both casual and hardcore gamers alike. For those looking for a cheap thrill, there's alway the Pro Evolution Soccer series, or for the hardcore, there's Metal Gear Solid and God of War. For the casual gamers, there's games like Guitar Hero, Rock Band and those cutesy little games for the kids. And your guilt of buying bad games can be justified by the fact it's only RM4/5. So, parents or new gamers, buy a PS2. Don't drop the bombshell on the next gen consoles yet. You can always wait until things get better/cheaper until it's affordable to chip in.

1. My Full Name is Mohamed Arif Fauzi bin Ariffin. For those who may not realize, my name came from both my parents name, that is Ariffin and Fauziah, thus my name.
2. When I was younger, I grew up watching shows like Bill Nye The Science Guy and other science for kids show, thus my interest in science, and in my later years, in engineering. I think engineers are helping scientist apply their new found discoveries, and innovating them for the good of mankind.
3. My primary school, Sultan Alam Shah 2, had a large influence in my life, that it has taught me that we, regardless of race, can learn to live and enjoy each others company. i never realized that people outside my school, in particular those who goes to different schools have difficulty mixing with other races. I made friends who transcend all colours and races, and religion. Hopefully, people around me can share my sentiments and learn to live together, without prejudice, and enjoy how unique we all are.
4. I went to America when I was young because my dad had to work there. From there is where I first started speaking the English Language by watching shows like Charlie Brown and Transformers. Some Speed Racer here and there. When I came back to Malaysia, particularly Terengganu, I was being made fun of because of my inability to speak Malay. But I'm okay now, it improved ten fold since i entered matriculation and university. I would say I'm proud to be able to converse the language well because it allows me to mix with people from other countries, and I like to meet new people!
5. Even though I like to meet people, i don't have a billion friends, but I do appreciate the close friends that I have. I think its more important to have quality friends than quantity
6. I'm a big time gamer! Back in the US of A, my dad would copy games from the office and bring it back for me to play! It was a big exposure for me to computers, the day we had to use DOS to navigate. The games he brought back were educational, mostly about numbers and alphabets, but it goes a long way in the process of learning.
7. To extend on no. 6, I used to have a Sega Genesis, and back then games were expensive. So what I did was i traded with Joey games so that we don't have to buy the same games. We used to call those game "Books" to cover the fact they were games. I think Aaron was in the fray too!
8. Me, Joey and Aaron used to draw together! Although i thought Joey was the pioneer as he started the whole comic thing. We just decided to get together and draw! The impressive thing is that Joey always draw very cleanly, while i felt my drawing was a bit rough.
9. I remember back in primary school, I was never an active person. PJ was always dreadful as I never joined any sport. It's a good thing that has changed as I am a more active person now, despite my recent weight gain! Will work on it soon, once I have focus!
10. In Secondary school, I joined Silat Gayung Fatani, and it was unique to learn your own heritage and learning the arts and taking time to perfect it. We had a good run making performances here and there, giving me the extra confidence of going out there and giving my best to those who are watching. Maybe next time I could do some other performance to please the crowd?
11. I remembered going to tuition to always chill and hang out with the cool lecturer, Mr Wong and some of my mates. Most of the time we would be talking rather than studying! But most of us did well, so all's well! Some are more colourful than others!
12. I spent a lot of time playing cards and watching anime back then. Back then watching anime was so cool because it was such a small community and the animes were of good quality. Now, it was blown out of proportion and there's too many, completely flooding the market. Oh and cards? Magic The Gathering and Pokemon.
13. I started taking up basketball when I watched Slam Dunk. Never looked back. I remember the days when every Saturday without fail, I'd be b-balling with my buds. We'd play until we're pissed at the other team or till noon! And the clutch shots? Thats yo' shot! Hope your doing alright my fellow basketball friends!
14. Astronomy was cool back then. In the Science and Maths Club, we had a supportive teacher, Mrs Ng Lai Na, who even persuaded the school to get its own telescope and have our own astronomy sessions. We also did sunspots, by directing the telescope directly onto the sun with a filter!
15. Matriculation was one of those times in my life I really enjoyed the most. I may be away from my family, but i my new found independence taught me to learn how to wash my clothes and organize myself. The coolest things were the people there, their so nice! i had a great group back then, we even went and organize and English night complete with performances and all. Kudos to Iman and the Gang! Hope your all doing good. 'cept for Iman, Haha!
16. University is both a lot of good and bad for me. Bad for all the bad experiences I've experienced with people, but good for all its learning and close buddies. Unfortunately, there will always be people who backstab you, but its good to know I have friends who got my back.
17. Debates was so engaging! I remembered looking for DOSE in my first year but failed miserably. Good thing I found Hawa and everyone in the 2nd year. Got into debating, and made very good friends. We might not debate so often anymore, but we still hang out from time to time so thats always nice! Spaghetti carbonara DOSE? Hehe
18.Civil Engineering is a very interesting course if your into Structures, Geology, Environmental, Highway, Project Management. So yeah a lot of different disciplines you can get into.
19. Being in a relationship has taught me to be more responsible, to be more attentive and always look out for the finer details. A little effort goes a long way. I am still learning, but I hope to be a better person to make the people around me happy!
20. I hope to be an engineer to engage myself in challenging projects, hopefully learning a lot in the process
21. What more can I? I like Curry? Especially good curry at that!
22. I also like to play futsal! I play every weekend, provided that there's enough people to play. You will probably see me in PJ on Saturday and Sunday mornings!

An unfortunate day for Perak
All I gotta say about Perak that hasn't been said before by others, please return the power to the people. Let them decide once again who shall lead them.
In a country like Malaysia, i personally think that in any state, there must be a clear outright winner. That way, they can form the governments without any hassle. My fellow debate friends may argue that then there would be a lack of debate in the state assemblies, but when you think about it, has there ever been a quality debate on anything, and don't the Excos's vote along party lines anyways?
Also as a reminder for everyone, the next time you vote, remember that you are voting for the CANDIDATE, not the PARTY. If you feel that the candidate shares the same ideologies and principles, then he will have your vote. Never ever vote for a party, as your ADUN become nothing more but rubber stamps to pass motions and laws for the state or country.
Personally, I do not like the events unfolding in Perak, but like many others, am powerless to do anything but to offer my two cents on it. Hopefully, a fresh election is called and the people of Perak can decide. And hopefully if that happens, a clear winner can be determined, as the status quo right now suggest and instable Perak government that in the end is gonna be a lost for the Perak People

Resident Evil 5 Demo is out! Console Problems Suck!
For those who are excited about a series that has been around for awhile. The PS3 and XBOX360 demo of Resident Evil 5 Demo is out. It's about 1 gigabyte! So be prepared to take awhile. Wouldn't be a problem if you had a ps3, as it doesn't have any issues at all.
Sometimes gamers should take a perspective when they buy a console. On a personal level, I own both the PS3 and XBOX360 (Not to brag, all are invited to come over and play) but always remember just because you buy the cheaper console doesn't mean its better.
Consoles should be able to take a certain amount of gameplay hours. Especially both these consoles as their audience are hardcore gamers who can easily clock in 5-6 hours straight of gameplay. Having to sit out of the action just because your console RROD just plain out sucks.
I applaud Sony for its sophisticated machine the PS3 can withstand all rigours a hardcore gamer can deal to it. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the XBOX360, which is a shame, because with the great library of games, you wouldn't want to limit yourself to two hours a session just as precaution before RROD strikes.
I personally think that console makers, when designing the consoles, have to put the gamers in mind first. If they understand what the gamers want in all aspects (not just limited to gaming), the system will sell.
If not for the XBOX 360 being able to play pirated games, it would've been behind the PS3 as then they would be level ground.
On a completely diffferent note, gamers are in the end the winners of the console wars, as so many great games are produced for all of us!

Casino Royale Blu Ray : My Take
Lately I've been very interested in the James Bond Series, thus this became my first blu ray buy for my just acquired PS3. It was a fortunate case as I got it only for RM50 as it was a second hand purchase. As it was in good condition, i couldn't really complain.
As my PS3 slurped in the disc, I was then presented with the awesome 1080P quality of the new James Bond movie. The pictures were so crisp, completely justifying a purchase of a Full HDTV. And best of all, the sound, it sounded so spectacular as you can hear even the most minute of glasses shattering and impressive explosions. In full 5.1 glory~ Eva Green can't look any better than this.
On the story, the new Casino Royale is basically a retelling of James Bond, complete with updates in terms of technology and storyline that is up to date with today's style. If you'd watch the old Bond films, you may find this film's pacing a bit to fast for your liking, but on a personal level, I think this movie has a good amount of action with a lot of good story in it.
Most importantly, Eva Green... *sigh* she compliments Daniel Craig Well. Very well.

The Unfortunate Economic Situation
Now that I've finally decided to write something, I don't even know what to say. I guess i shall begin by saying that if there is ever a certainty in life, is that life is full of uncertainties. There will be phases in life where we will have to make changes and adjustments that impact our future greatly. Some may find this a scary step, but a necessary one as the world does not stand still for one man.
Lately, it has been depressing to read news about people committing suicide over lost jobs due to the economic contraction. What was once a bullish market have turned sour, casualties being hardworking people who are at the bottom of the pyramid. It's ironic that the people who makes the plays and calls stays while the hardworking workers gets the chop. Life can be very unfair to some. I share my sympathies to those who lost their jobs, and i sincerely hope that you guys keep it together. Things will get a lot worst before it gets better, but always remember that when one door closes, another door of opportunity opens to us.
